Rust & LTO: I think I figured out what's wrong

It should detect these errors, yes. But I'm planing on switching to CARGO_BUILD_TARGET soon anyways, which should resolve this issue.

Installing linux kernel and broadcom-wl from this repo makes wifi device unavailable

Have you tried linux-lts? If it works with that one then its probably not related to ALHP but a kernel bug which you should report as such.

So maybe an dependency? If you find time, downgrade some of its direct dependencies and check if that fixes it.
